1. Having a basic knowledge of relational databases.

Indicators:

• Knows the relevant terms and definitions of relational databases, such as record, primary key, referential integrity, join query, SQL, reports.
• Can design a relational database with one-to-many relations.
  

2. Working smoothly and efficiently with Microsoft Access.

Indicators:

• Can make tables and make relations between these tables.
• Can import and export data (e.g. from and to .csv and .xlsx).
• Knows the advantages and disadvantages of the use of Microsoft Access compared to Microsoft Excel.
• Uses the Help function when looking for information on less used characteristics and functions.
• Can make queries using the design grid. Simple selection queries using and, or, Like, Is Null, but also parameter queries, group by queries and inner/outer joins.
• Can make changes to many records at the same time using action queries.
• Can design forms and adapt the design of existing forms. Can add all kinds of controls (selection lists).
• Can make master/detail forms.
• Knows how to make reports, even complex reports such as group reports showing data based on various tables.
• Knows some of the functions that are used a lot and can use them in queries, forms and reports.
• Can make a simple macro and attach it to a button.
• Can do assignments within given deadlines in Microsoft Access.
