Objectives
The students are introduced to mainframes and will learn how to work in a mainframe environment.
Contents
What is a Mainframe : Batch jobs and online use.
Data sets, parameters, catalogue.
ISPF.
SDSF.
Programming languages in Z/OS.
Compiling and linking.
JCL syntax.
REXX.
All topics are illustrated by examples and practised under supervision.
Prerequisites
Databases II, Computer architecture, Operating systems and Networks, OO-programming II.
Study guidance
Individual learning problems may always be reported to the lecturer and will be remedied.
Students are guided and coached.
