Objectives

The objectives of this course are in line with the programme-specific learning outcomes.

Deescribe the concepts of world citizenship and development edcuation

Develop activities within teh concept of development education for the (pre-)primary school 

Define the teacher's roles from an international perspective

Contribute to initiatievs that promote an international perspective on and within education

Contents

The course consists of the following parts:

- global citizenship

- development education

- spatial mobility

- commodity issues

- systems thinking

- international educational systems

- internationalisation projects (theory and actual participation)

This course unit builds further on the development of the competencies aspired in following course units:

Survey of programme-specific learning outcomes and sub-programme-specific learning outcomes in the teacher training programme at HoGent

LEARNING OUTCOME 3: Develop a professional view linked to the social reality based on international and broad cultural participation
