Objectives

We can motivate why we included this course unit in the study program
The optional course unit is designed to sharpen the knowledge of students at certain points. Students chose this course unit in function of the topic of their bachelor paper or their own interest. The course consists of topics that reflect the current trends within the profession of the audiologist. An optional course unit also allows the student to be manager of his own learning path.

Functioning of an audiological organization ( e.G. self-help groups ...)

Debate on the position of audiology in healthcare

Final objectives

1. Achieve an efficient and effective speech therapy/audiological assessment tailored to the care recipient

2. Achieve a methodically sound and efficient speech therapy/audiological intervention tailored to the care recipient

3. Develop a view about the job profile and its evolution

4. Pro-actively initiate speech therapy/audiological screening, prevention, information and care education

5. Constantly update their own knowledge of speech therapy/audiological disorders, in various domains of the discipline, along with their assessment and treatment
