Objectives

The aim is that especially the students'oral communication skills should be sharpened up.

Contents

Communication role plays aimed at preactical situations supplemented by written assignements

Final objectives

Core competence 1: uses the business-oriented communication skills and correctly expresses himself in English. (B1+/B2) (DSL2)


Indicators:

  • prepares the meeting (via mail, phone + agenda) en defends his opinion (during meetings).
  • negociates (during meetings).
  • does an interview.
  • presents a company or a product.

Core competence 2: gives a short, written report of a business activity in English. (B1+/B2) (DSL2, DSL10) (DSL2, DSL10)

Indicators:

  • takes down the minutes and works correctly and with an eye for detail. (A&S)
  • reports in a correct business language. (A&S)

Core competence 3: draws up persuasive business and commercial texts in English for web sites, leaflets, brochures and advertisements for several target groups. (DSL2, DSL6, DSL11, AC1, AC2, AC4, AC6, AC7, ABC1, ABC2, ABC4)

Indicators:

  • selects the relevant information to characterize the product / the service. (W&I)
  • characterizes his target group. (I)
  • writes autonomously, clearly and persuasive and with a sense of creativity about the product or service offered. He does this in function of the target group and to take care of the image of the company. (A&S)

  • First exam opportunity:
    • Non-period bound evaluation : 50%
    • Period bound evaluation : 50% written exam
