Objectives

 

Personnel and organizational management actually take a strong position in private and public organizations. Important aspects are flexible and result oriented employment in the framework of a managerial logic of high performances

An integrative approach is used to obtain better results. The aim of this course is to make students familiar with theoretical models and insights in Human Resource Management.

Besides, the course provide information about the concrete implementation of Human Resource Management with a special focus on strategic Human Resource Management, competency management, Human Resource Management Information systems and Employee Performance Management models.

Contents

  • From a classical personnel management towards a strategic Human Resource Management within the framework of a four dimensional model of Human Resource Management
  • The added value model of Human Resource Management with the translation of HRM in concrete output. Monitoring and evaluation of HRM through HRScorecards and other measurement systems
  • Employee Performance management as a necessary step towards strategic Human Resource Management
  • Competency management as an integrated performance management system
  • E-HRM and Human Resource Management Information Systems as ICT infrastructure for an efficient Human Resource Management

This course unit is marked out of 20 (rounded to an integer).
Re-sit exam: is possible.
