Objectives
- Taking into account environmental considerations in the design and operation of industrial installations (OLR 15, T)
- Describing water prevention, control and processing techniques (OLR 15, S&I)
- Understanding and displaying different water treatment systems (OLR 15, T)
- Applying environmental conditions, emission standards, standards and EQS and BATs correctly (OLR 16, T)

- Collection and treatment of drinking water
- Parameters of water pollution
- Manure action plan MAP: problems, objectives, approach, consequences
- Measurement technologies: flow rates, pollutant loads
Wastewater treatment technology :
discussion of the primary treatment techniques: grids, cutting grids, sieves, levelling, neutralisation, sedimentation, sand, grease and oil separators, flotation, coagulation-flocculation, precipitation of heavy metals ...
- Discussion of secondary or biological purification techniques: active sludge systems, biofilters, biorotors, submerged aerated fixed bed, SAF systems, plant systems, anaerobic purification systems...
- Discussion of tertiary treatment: nitrification, denitrification, phosphorus removal, sand filtration, disinfection. Membrane processes (micro-, ultra-, nannofiltration, reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, dialysis, ion exchange, membrane bioreactors)
