Formulating a research question

o The student is able to explain the characteristics of a good research question

o The student is able to formulate a research question and test it against the characteristics of a good research question.

o The student is able to split a research question into concrete sub-questions and associated objectives

o The student is able to explain and distinguish the different types of research

o The student is able to explain the different research methods and distinguish them according to suitability

Literature review

o The student is able to explain quality criteria of professional literature

o The student can distinguish between different types of sources

o The student can adjust his search strategy according to the search results

o The student can consult professional literature in relation to a specific research domain

o The student is able to draw the essence from professional literature

o The student is able to explain characteristics of a structured text

o The student is able to write a structured text

o The student is able to explain the importance of correct referencing

o The student can refer correctly

Research methods

o The student can select a research method depending on the problem definition

o The student is able to carry out a research method in function of the problem definition

o The student is able to distinguish and apply methods to collect quantitative data
