Objectives

In-depth knowledge of typical German structures (lexical and grammatical) - expanding lexical, grammatical and cultural background knowledge and further acquiring a strong command of the German language.

Final objectives

Sub-competence 1: Understands sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. personal matters, shopping, local geography, employment). (Listening and Reading: A2) (OSBV-2, AC2, AC4)

Indicators:
  • Produces simple, yet predictable connected text on topics in German. (I)
  • Reads less complex texts, paying heed to clarity of pronunciation. (T)

Sub-competences 2: communicates both orally and written in a more complex situation (spoken production, writing:A2) (OSBV-2, AC1, AC2, AC4)

Indicators:
  • Applies acquired vocabulary and knowledge of grammar to correctly and efficiently convey an oral message in German. (T)
  • Applies acquired vocabulary and knowledge of grammar to correctly and efficiently convey a written message in German. (T)
  • Translates less complicated sentences from Dutch into German and vice versa. (T)

Sub-competence 3: engages in a brief social interaction. (spoken interaction A1) (OSBV-2, AC2, AC4)

Indicators:
  • Accurately asks questions concerning familiar topics and activities in German. (T)
